ANTI-MAGIC and other things or how to travel with and inside a suitcase
LOS ANGELES
THEATRE CENTER
IN SPANISH
Free for LA City Schools
THE PLAY
Stepping off into a
northern port, along with his inseparable
suitcase, Plouf searches for
fortune in the four corners of the world,
wherever there may be children. But this
lonesome
traveler is a clumsy actor for his own
show, and is the first to be surprised
when
he encounters an audience. Only at the
behest of children will he reveal the
contents
of his suitcase: each object has it’s
own story, it’s own magic... With
a simple spoon or
handkerchief, he will reveal an astonishing
discovery: anti-magic, his specialty.
Plouf
is a hybrid of various disciplines: clown,
theatre, magic, storytelling. Anti-magic
and
other things is the result of many years
of experience working with a young audience;
a pretext to embark upon a trip to Plouf’s
imaginary world, a visit to different
aspects
of magic, creating space for humor and
for children’s imagination to flourish..
